Hi Daria - thanks for your comment - very solid points and I'm glad you like my blog :)
I was working in Sydney before in the hairdressing/cosmetics industry, I did a lot of events, advertising, PR, B2B marketing, website and email work. At the moment, I've had to take a break from the fashion industry as my partner and moved to NZ to give his career a chance to flourish but still doing type of similar work - heaps of event management, PR, budgets, promotions. The company I work for now is a global one so it's been interesting interacting with offices in different countries. How about you? What do you do?

Great post with lots of support about how destructive this industry can be for women's self-image. I noticed that you work in the fashion industry, what kind of work do you do?

I liked to your blog in my post, as I was just thinking about the effects of media images, and was looking for some pictures, when I found your blog.

Personally, I'm inclined to lean in the direction of saying that women who think their sexuality (meaning, big breasts, long sleek bare legs, etc.) has power over men are misguided in that they are already aspiring to a men-appointed type of sexuality. To me, it's a flawed argument. I think we need images of women AND men that depict real intimacy, sensuality, sexuality that is empowering to people, rather than the limiting ones we have now. So that's my two cents.

Absolutely love your blog. I'm finishing up my business management degree this semester and am doing a marketing major. Oh, and I love fashion. So it's good to know there are other people out there that are able to combine these interests :)

You have written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: If it looks easy, its mind bogglingly complex. Thanks for the info.
